Hope Cottage is tucked away down a lane on the edge of a picturesque Oxfordshire village called Brightwell-cum-Sotwell. This charming village has houses ranging from moated manors to thatched cottages and is a delight to explore. Hope Cottage itself dates back to the early nineteenth century and lies on the site of a Roman Road. With rural views from every window and a flourishing country garden, the cottage is a welcoming English home from home.
Enjoy your meals in our spacious conservatory. If you choose to spend your days sight-seeing, Hope Cottage is a haven to return to at the end of a busy day; if your interest is bird-watching or garden visiting our cottage is an ideal base. If you want a pint of beer in a typical thatched English village pub then the Red Lion is a five minute walk away, at the top of the lane.
Red Lion Pub We will meet you at the airport and drive you to the cottage in a seven-seater air-conditioned vehicle. Our comfortable guestrooms each have private en suite bathrooms, and there is a cosy guests sitting room with log fire for cooler evenings and lots of books, maps and guides if you need more ideas for your itinerary. You are also welcome to relax in our spacious conservatory but most evenings as the sun sets we feel sure you will want to sit outside on our west-facing terrace to enjoy the lovely views and peacefulness of the Oxfordshire countryside.
