Oxford (20 minutes).Brightwell is only 10 miles away from Oxford. A beautiful city, with something to interest everyone. Within one square mile alone the city has more that 900 buildings of architectural or historical interest, not to mention the shopping! On a walking tour of the city you can visit many of the famous and beautiful colleges of Oxford University, such as Merton, Corpus Christi or Magdalen. Bath (1 hour).

has been welcoming visitors for over 2,000 years. Designated by UNESCO as a
World Heritage Site, Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in
Europe, such as the Roman Baths & Pump Room, the Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge
and the Circus. Stratford upon Avon (1 hour 30 minutes).
Spend a day visiting the Shakespearean town of Stratford upon Avon. There are many examples of Tudor architecture in this town, many places of interest to visit including Shakespeare’s birthplace. Just outside the town it is possible to look around Anne Hathaway’s cottage. This was the home of Shakespeare’s wife before she married. It is actually a spacious farmhouse, parts of which date back to 1460. Three miles north of Stratford it is possible to visit Mary Arden’s house, a fascinating early Tudor farmhouse which belonged to Robert Arden, Shakespeare’s grandfather, and was the childhood home of Shakespeare’s mother, Mary. For those with a literary interest it is possible to go to see one of Shakespeare’s plays performed in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre by the internationally renowned Royal Shakespeare Company. Tower Bridge is only one of many interesting attractions in London which is about one hour away by train.
